The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) together with the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA), have reminded the public of heavy rains in the coming days.
They said they have however put in place measures to minimise the intensity of floods and rapid and effective response to save lives, should it occurr. Numo Blafo Omaetu III, the Public Relation Officer of the AMA made this known in a release on Friday in Accra.
He cautioned the residents to desist from disposing wastes into drains, which he said was the major cause of flooding in the metropolis whenever it rained. Numo Blafo advised the public to support the AMA in its efforts of desilting choked gutters within the communities before the main rains set in to mitigate any destructive effects.
