The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and the Director of Administration of the Tamale Teaching Hospital have been locked out of their offices by some youths in Tamale.
The locking up of the CEO and the Director of Administration of the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH) could cripple operations of the facility, Mr Mohammed Misbao Deputy Director of Human Resource at TTH has said.
He told the GNA in Tamale on Wednesday that the Director of Administration of TTH was responsible for signing documents to restock logistics of various departments of the Hospital, saying, since his office was locked up, such documents normally signed twice in a week, might not be signed affecting operations of the facility.
He said the locking up of the CEO’s office was affecting the administrative functions of the Hospital.
Kandahar Boys, a Tamale-based youth group affiliated to the ruling New Patriotic Party, on Tuesday evening went to the TTH, entered the administration block, asked the secretary to the CEO to pack out of the office.
Kandahar Boys seized the keys to the main door of the CEO and Director of Administration’s offices, locked up the door, and wrote on its (door) “do not enter until further notice” and left with the keys.
The youth group alleged mismanagement at the Hospital and called for the removal of its CEO amongst other directors.
Some police personnel visited the Hospital to ascertain the situation.
For now, the locking up of the offices has not affected service delivery at the Hospital but there are fears that if prolonged could cripple operations.
