The Elections Committee of the Ghana Journalists’ Association (GJA) has rescheduled the 2017 elections to open from Thursday, February 16 and close on Monday, February 27, 2017.
“The Elections Committee of the Ghana Journalists’ Association (GJA) wishes to inform members that nominations of candidates for the 2017 elections have been rescheduled,” a statement signed by Mr Ben Assorow, the Chairman of the Election Committee of the GJA and copied to the Ghana News Agency on Thursday indicated.
According to the statement: “Positions to be contested for and filing fees are as follows;
A.National Executives
* President GHC 1000.00
* Vice President GHC 800.00
* General Secretary GHC 800.00
* Organizing Secretary GHC 500.00
* Treasurer GHC 500.00
* Public Affairs Officer GHC 500.00
The statement said “The filing fees for Regional Chairpersons would be GHC500.00 each (Five hundred Ghana cedis). All other regional branch positions would attract filing fees of GHC300.00 each (Three hundred Ghana Cedis).
“Nomination forms may be obtained from the GJA website: www.gjaghana.org
“Payment of filing fees should be made to: Ghana Journalists’ Association, National Investment Bank (NIB), Osu, Accra Account No: 100110037001.“Completed forms and receipt covering payment should be submitted to the GJA Elections Committee on or before Tuesday, March 7 2017.

“The elections will be held on Friday, March 31, 2017 from 0900 hours to 16 hours GMT at designated polling stations to be announced later,” the statement said.
