The disability-friendly facility comprises 11 floors, including two underground parking levels, and three elevators.

Inaugurating the new office, Dr. Edward Omane-Boamah, Minister of Communications, noted that the NCA was fast-tracking growth in the information and communication technology sector and commended the NCA management and staff for using its internally generated funds to put up the structure and decentralising its operations by establishing permanent structures in seven regions.

He said Ghana was recognised in the international community as a front runner in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) revolution, and urged the management of the facility not to rest on their oars, but strive for excellence.

Dr. Omane-Boamah said the implementation of policies and reforms under the government of the National Democratic Congress had helped to transform the sector.

He said the NCA had performed creditably in regulating the activities of telecommunication companies, adding that mobile usage and penetration increased from 11 million in 2009, to 35 million in 2016, with more than 18 million data subscribers.

He said about 400,000 jobs were created by the project, which started four years ago adding that the prospects of the communication sector were huge and Ghanaians should take advantage of the opportunities.

Mr. William Teve, Director-General of NCA, said it had improved on telephony and data services to both rural and urban populations and assured that the NCA would collaborate with other stakeholders to ensure continuous growth.
