Israeli troops killed at least four Palestinian protesters and injured10when they tried to breach the Syria-Israel border, Syrian television said.

Hundreds of Palestinians participating in Naksa Day demonstrations marking the 44th anniversary of the Six Days War, gathered on the Syrian side of the fence close to the Druze village of Majdal Shams in the northern Golan Heights.
Israeli soldiers opened fire on the protesters as they attempted to cut through the border fence to enter Israel, Haaretz said.
Israeli forces were on high alert for the protests and Israel had issued a stern warning that it would protect its sovereignty at all costs and act harshly against those who attempt to breach the borders.
Palestinians planned the protests in Lebanon, Syria and Gaza.
The Lebanese Army declared areas near the border with Israel closed military zones and prevented protesters from approaching, The Daily Star reported. The army forced the protesters to congregate near the Litani River, the Lebanese daily said. U.N. troops also boosted their presence in the area.
Disturbances were also reported in the West Bank with Palestinian protesters marching toward the Israeli settlement Elon Moreh, Ynetnews.com reported. Israel's Channel Two said disturbances also occurred in the Kalandia refugee camp north of Jerusalem.
During a protest of the creation of the State of Israel last month, 14 Palestinians from Lebanon and Syria were killed, some after they breached the border between Syria and Israel.
