The Saint Gabriel's Guild of Ga-Adangme Society of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Adenta on Sunday, donated assorted food items and detergents worth GH¢1,000 to the Frafraha Foster Home.
The items included two baskets of palm fruits, one maxi bag of rice, two mini bags of beans, two mini bags of dried pepper, two cartons of frozen chicken, three containers of groundnut paste, two cartons of toilet rolls, a carton of Key Soap, one box of Sunlight Soap, a box of Saint Louis Sugar, two bags of oranges, 40 pairs of bathroom slippers and a bunch of plantain.
Presenting the items, the Secretary of the Society, Mrs Victoria Okerchiri said it was part of the body’s social responsibility to assist the poor and needy.
The Father of the home, Mr Forster Quist thanked members of the society for their kind gesture.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency, the Chairman of the society, Mr John Kwesi Angmor said the members aimed at developing their spiritual and social lives through the support of the poor and vulnerable
The home was established by a German and a Ghanaian in 1972 and presently have 35 resident orphans comprising five girls and 30 boys.
