The National Lotteries Authority on Wednesday donated five computers, an Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) and a printer all costing GH¢10,000 to the Greater Accra Regional Fire Service.
Mr Eugene Agben, Director of Information Technology of NLA, said the donation was to show appreciation for the prompt response by the Fire Service to a fire outbreak at NLA.
He said the presentation formed part of the company’s corporate social responsibility to support organisations.
Mr Edwin Blankson, Greater Accra Regional Fire Officer, receiving the items, said the computers would enhance data collection, analysis and storage as well as facilitate fire report writing.
He said the computers would facilitate the operational and administrative work of the Fire Service.
Mr Blankson appealed to NLA to help in building a simulating chamber for fire fighting training at the Fire Academy and Training School at James Town in Accra.
