The police on Thursday cautioned the public against the use of privately registered vehicles for commercial business.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Alexander Kweku Obeng who is in charge of Education, Research and Training at the headquarters of Motor Traffic and Transport Unit (MTTU), said this flouted the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) law on the use of vehicles.
Speaking to GNA in an interview in Accra, he warned that offenders would be made to face the full rigours of the law.
ASP Obeng said private cars were not authorized for commercial purposes and urged such drivers to register their vehicles for commercial purposes before they could ply the roads.
He said to ensure security and safety it was important to board vehicles that could be traced when something happened.
ASP Obeng called on operators of lorry stations not to entertain such people at their stations and urged the public to report anyone
using private cars for commercial business to the police.
