The Management of Ghana News Agency (GNA) has signed an agreement with INFOTECH Global for the supply of a server to improve on the operations of the Agency.
Nana Appau Duah, General Manager of GNA who announced this at an end -of-year reception for the staff on Tuesday, said the supply was under the Public Sector Reform Programme.
He said GNA could not continue to depend solely on government resources, adding that efforts would be made to improve on its Internally Generated Funds (IGF).
Nana Appau Duah said Management was negotiating with the Government for 100 per cent retention of the IGF.
He said a Medium Term Strategic Plan for GNA 2011-2015 had been drawn and with the support of the Board of Directors, it would be pursued to improve on operations.
"We need your (staff) support and unity of purpose for transformation in GNA," he added.
GNA is the only wire service in the country.
