Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) in collaboration with the Moms Health Club, a keep fit club, organized health fitness walk for the staff of COCOBOD in Kumasi at the weekend.
More than 100 COCOBOD workers took part in the exercise covering a distance of about 10 kilometers on the principal streets of the city of Kumasi.
Dr Kojo Essel, Medical Officer and Coordinator of the programme, speaking to Ghana News Agency (GNA) after the exercise, said the walk aimed at improving the health status of the workers.
He emphasized the need for people to attend hospitals regularly for check-ups.
The Medical Officer advised the staff to eat balanced diet, more fruits and also drink plenty of water to improve their health conditions.
Mr Samuel Edmond Bisiw, Ashanti Regional Manager of the Quality Control Division of the COCOBOD commended the workers for participating in the
exercise and assured them that the exercise would be held once every month.
