The Shama District Assembly has appealed to the Department of Feeder Roads to act quickly to rehabilitate roads in the district.
The assembly members said the repair of the roads would prevent accidents.
Ms Emelia Arthur, the District Chief Executive, said the achievements of the district included provision of potable water to more communities, award of scholarships to students and increased revenue mobilization.
She said that the District Development Planning Committee had already notified the assembly about the poor roads in the area and
immediate action would be taken to rehabilitate them.
On the upcoming district assembly election, Ms Arthur called on the members of the assembly to ensure free and fair elections.
"We pray for violence free election and hope that we shall have competent and dedicated people elected for a continued development of the District".
