Plans are far advanced for the smooth take off of the proposed Presbyterian Midwifery Training School at Dormaa-Ahenkro in the Brong-Ahafo Region, next year.
The Reverend Dwamena Asirifi, member of the School's Planning Committee, disclosed this when the first Principal, Madam Hilda Commey, a Deputy Director of Nursing Services, was conducted round the premises of the School.
He commended the chiefs and people of Dormaa-Ahenkro for contributing to the establishment of the Midwifery School.
Another member of the Planning Committee and General Manager of West-Brong Presbyterian Health Services, Mr. Fred Effah-Yeboah said the School would initially run post-basic Midwifery programme for nurses, community health nurses and
health assistants in strict compliance with the requirements of the Ghana Nurses and Midwives Council.
He said that the School would later admit Senior High School graduates to pursue Midwifery Certificate course.
The Municipal Chief Executive for Dormaa-Ahenkro, Mr. Vincent Oppong Asamoah lauded members of the committee for working hard to ensure the establishment of the School.
He said that the Assembly would construct a fence wall round the School.
