The Atwima-Mponua District Assembly has asked the police to step up road checks in the area to reduce fatalities on the roads.
They want drivers who break traffic regulations to be arrested and brought to justice.
The assembly members, at their last meeting at Nyinahin, held that it was by doing this that the growing indiscipline on the roads could be brought down.
Earlier, Mrs Theresa Adomako-Tawiah, District Chief Executive (DCE) praised the members for their hard work, co-operation and understanding that aided smooth implementation of the assembly's development programmes.
She appealed to them to put themselves up for re-election in the December 28 polls, so that the assembly could continue to benefit from their rich experience.
The DCE expressed worry about the surge in forest and land degradation through illegal timber felling in the district and said a Task Force had been set up to deal with the menace head-on.
Madam Adomako-Tawiah appealed for support and co-operation of people in the various communities to help track down offenders.
She also complained about the slow pace of work on the Nyinahin Town Park project and urged the contractors to speed things up.
