Mr Benyameen Sam Keelson, Deputy Director of the Western Regional Centre for National Culture (CNC), on Friday called on Ghanaians to harness culture for national development.
He said culture that epitomizes the people's way of life, could be used to educate the citizenry and make the necessary changes in society.
Mr Keelson, who was speaking at a meeting with a delegation from the Network of Cultural Institution in West Africa, at Fijai in the Region, said the influence of foreign culture on Africans way of life had hampered Ghana's development.
The Network made up of personnel from Nigeria, Ghana, Cote d'lvoire, Togo and Benin, aimed at creating effective cultural and artistic life in West Africa.
He reminded African countries about the significance of culture to development and said the Network would promote culture in West Africa for development.
