A Magistrate's court at Akim Oda, has sentenced Kwame Osei, a 26-year-old farmer, to 24 months imprisonment for stealing fish and meat, valued GH�100.00, from soup at a chop bar.
The convict, pleaded guilty to the charge of unlawful entry and stealing.
The prosecution told the court presided over by Mr Albert Owusu Annor that Nyarko, the complainant, operates a chop bar at Akim Achiase where Osei lives.
The court heard that Nyarko had been experiencing frequent theft of fish and meat from soup at the chop bar.
According to the prosecution, on September 10, this year at about 0030 hours, Samuel Kwaku Kwarfo, a witness in the case, spotted Osei coming out of the chop bar and alerted Nyarko about it.
Nyarko detected that almost all the fish and meat in the chop bar soup had been stolen and when Osei was confronted, he admitted committing the offence.
