A three-day workshop on the management of clinical care for health management teams in the Western Region opened at Takoradi on Monday.
The workshop, organized by the Ghana Health Service (GHS), was sponsored by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), under its Focus Regions Health Project.
It is being attended by doctors, district directors of health, pharmacists, hospital administrators and matrons, among others.
Speaking at the workshop, Dr Linda Vanotoo, Regional Director of Health, said the USAID project was implemented in the Western, Central and Greater Accra Regions to strengthen the GHS to offer quality service.
She said this was especially important to position the GHS to deliver because of the country's oil find that would attract a lot of people into the region.
Dr Vanotoo said the workshop would look into how data could be utilized to improve services and proper planning and to make the work of the GHS attractive to the public.
