Office of the Attorney-General said it has taken note of the ruling of the High Court, Accra, in the case of the Republic versus Charles Wereko Brobbey and Kwadwo Mpiani in which the charges were struck out and the two were accordingly discharged.
It said that the discharge of the accused persons by the court,was not a determination of their guilt or innocence.
A statement signed by Mrs. Betty Mould-Iddrisu, Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, made available to GNA on Tuesday, said "It is consequently not an acquittal as has been erroneously interpreted in certain quarters."
It said the Attorney-General would after studying the ruling, take such appropriate actions that would address the procedural issues raised by the court.
The statement said "The Attorney-General's office wishes to assure Ghanaians that it remains firm in its resolve to seek justice for the people of Ghana."
