Scholars in Transit, a non-governmental organisation in Nkoranza in partnership with the Ghana Bible Society, has launched a programme, Show the child the right way to God under which it bought English Bibles to be distributed to Junior High School students in selected districts and municipalities in the Brong-Ahafo Region.
Last year they donated 6,000 Bibles to some schools in the Nkoranza District.
The Rev Frank Peprah Twumasi, Chief Executive Officer of the NGO, said this when he presented 2,000 Bibles to Techiman Municipal Directorate of
Education to be given to pupils of Sansama Seventh Day Adventist Junior High School at the weekend.
The Rev. Twumasi said the two organizations had envisaged to supply more than 7,000 Bibles to be distributed to all schools in Techiman municipality by the end of the year.
He said the two organizations would make similar donations to schools in Wenchi, Dormaa and Jaman South District Directorates of Education.
Mr. Godfred Axolu, Techiman Municipal Director of Education, who received the Bibles, thanked the donors and said the Bibles would not only ensure the spiritual growth of the students but would also help them to improve their proficiency in English language.
Mr. Amoako Atta, the Headmaster of the school, called on parents to advise their children to read the Bible after school hours to enhance their spiritual development.
