Chief Inspector Nketiah Yeboah, the Public Affairs Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command, has advised taxi drivers to call for police assistance when hired for long distances at night or get a friend to accompany them.

Chief Inspector Yeboah was speaking at a seminar organized by the police to educate taxi drivers in Koforidua on how to be vigilant to avoid
being prey to taxi snatchers operating in the region
He said since the beginning of the year, the region had recorded 16 cases of taxi cab snatching incidents when the drivers of the taxis were
hired for long journeys in the night.
Mr Yeboah mentioned some of the areas in the region that recorded car snatching incidents as Anyinam-Adasewase, Anyinam, Akim Asafo and Enyiresi
all situated on the Accra-Kumasi Highway.
