Mr Fleance Danso, Asunafo South District Chief Executive, at the weekend warned that contractors who collected mobilization fees but failed to execute their projects would be made to face the full rigours of the law.
"Some of the contractors have collected more than GHC 500 as mobilization fees only for them
to abandon projects awarded them," he said.
Mr Danso gave the warning when he addressed the first ordinary session of the assembly at
Kukuom.
He said the assembly would terminate the works of contractors whose performance were not
up to expectation.
Mr Danso expressed regret that "monies meant for the improvement of social infrastructure
rather found their way into the hands of contractors who fail to perform".
He noted with concern that some contractors in the area after bidding and winning contracts,
left the district to undertake projects in other districts, and appealed to the assembly members,
unit committees, and chiefs, to monitor the works of contractors to help them guard against shoddy works.
