A 6.5-magnitude earthquake in Oaxaca state shook parts of southern Mexico early Wednesday, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
The 6-mile-deep earthquake was about 25 miles northeast of Pinotepa Nacional, 48 miles east-
southeast of Ometepec, 51 miles south of Tlaxiaco, 74 miles west-southwest of Oaxaca and 148 miles east of Acapulco, the USGS said.
