The National Youth Employment Programme (NYEP)has presented 35 sewing machines to the first batch of trainees under the Programme's Dress Making Module, at Denu, in the Ketu-South District.
Mr Frank Amable, Ketu-South District Chief Executive, (DCE) who presented the machines to the 29 boys and six girls, advised them to respect their instructors and take the training seriously.
He also asked the instructors to impart the necessary skills to the trainees to enable them to pass their competency examinations after the six months training.
Mr Amable told the instructors that they would be considered under the project to sew 30,000 school uniforms meant for needy pupils in the region.
Mr Sylvanus Amedorme, the District NYEP Coordinator, said 676 youths had been engaged by the local NYEP with 428 of them under the Eco-Brigade Module.
He said 22 youths who had completed their training as Health Assistants were being processed to enter health training institutions.
Madam Mawuli Azameti, an instructor, said the instructors would do their best and so the trainees should take the training seriously.
