The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ellembelle, Mr. Daniel K. Eshun has appealed to the Ministry of Roads and Highways, and the Ghana COCOBOD to help the Assembly construct the
Aiyinase-Nyamebekyere-Asomasi feeder road.
This is to facilitate easy movement of cash crops especially cocoa in the area onto the market.
Mr. Eshun made this known in an interview with the GNA at Nkroful in the Ellembelle district of the Western Region.
According to him, most of the people in the area are predominantly cocoa growing farmers, but their produce is often locked up on the farms,
due to inaccessibility.
Mr. Eshun said the Assembly was in the process of procuring a grader to reshape feeder roads in the district.
This, he said, would afford market women in the hinterlands the opportunity to cart their produce from the farm to the market.
Touching on sanitation sustainability, Mr. Eshun said the Assembly has made provision for six refuse containers to be placed at vantage points in the communities to curb the mounting refuse heaps.
