Miss Elizabeth Asi Ocansey, Twifo-Heman-Denkyira District Director of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), on Tuesday appealed to women to resist intimidation and to get involved in community development.
She made the appeal during the closing session of a workshop organised by the NCCE in collaboration with World Vision, Ghana, at Twifo Praso to empower the women to take up leadership roles in society.
More than 50 women participated in the programme at which topics including social auditing, decentralization of Local Government, the role of women in society and the qualities of a leader were discussed.
Miss Ocansey also used the forum to educate the participants on the introduction of the new GHc2 notes and asked them to handle them with care. She appealed to the participants to educate other women who could not attend the forum.
