Mr. Daniel Appau-Ohyeamang, Asante-Mampong Municipal Chief Executive, has raised concern about delay in the release of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) to the assemblies.
The assemblies, he said, depended largely on the Fund for the execution of most of their programmes and programmes and called for regular release of the Fund to ensure timely implementation of projects.
Mr. Ohyeamang, who was addressing an ordinary meeting of the assembly at Asante-Mampong, said the 2009 third quarter allocation of the common fund
for the assembly was in arrears, delaying work on some projects.
He said that the assembly was expecting a total release of GH¢1,507,998.29 as its share of the Fund, last year, but received GH¢355,911.37,
representing 23.60 per cent.
He said the assembly was expecting GH¢1,258,198.54 from the Fund this year.
Mr Ohyeamang said that the assembly had as of the end of April, this year, collected GH¢114,710.78 as internally generated fund out of the GH¢193,538.00 targeted.
He said that the assembly had planned to extend electricity to a number of
communities including Mprim-Nsuase, Bunuso, Bobena, Nkubeta, Dome/Oseikrom, Kofiase-Plotso, Dome-Akuraa, Dupri, Brengo and Duadaso.
Mr Solomon Asiedu, the Municipal Coordinating Director, praised the assembly members and departmental heads for their contribution to the
development of the area.
