Mr Ammishadai Owusu-Amoah, Vice Chairman of the Akuapem Rural Bank Limited presented paints valued GH¢5,000 to the Nsawam District Police for the painting of the Police Station.
He said the bank took the initiative because government alone could not renovate public buildings.
Receiving the paints on behalf of the Nsawam Police, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) M.T. Dordoe commended the bank for the gesture.
He appealed to philanthropists, non-governmental organisations and other financial institutions to support the Police to enable them
effectively ensure law and order.
Mr. K. Anane Kyeremeh, General Manager of the Bank, said that the financial institution, which was established in 1999, has employed about 120
people from Akuapem South and Auapem North areas.
He said that the bank last year donated two television sets each to St Martins Secondary School at Adoagyiri and Nsawam Secondary School and
constructed a canteen for the Nsawam Presbyterian Primary School.
Mr. Kyeremeh said that the bank donated spraying machines, Willington boots and cutlasses to Akuapem North and South Assemblies for distribution to award winners at last year's farmers' day celebration.
He stated that the bank through its micro finance programme gave loans to farmers and small-scale business operators to enhance economic activities in the areas.
Mr. Adu William Awuku, Nsawam Branch Manager of the Bank, said the Board of Directors had approved for donation ten desks to Sakyi Agyekwah
Primary School.
