Mannarkayam Baby,well-known film critic of south Indian state Kerala and general secretary of Kerala Film Critics Association, has died. He was 64.
Baby had also scripted and directed documentaries. He was a member of the National Films Award Committee in 1995.
Before he developed health problems a few weeks back, Baby was engaged in writing a comprehensive history of Malayalam cinema. He died at a private hospital in Kochi on Monday night, family sources said.
He is survived by wife and two daughters.
Baby was the founder-general secretary of Kerala Film Critics Association, whose annual awards are considered a prestigious honour by film personalities in Malayalam.
