The Kumasi Metropolitan Authority (KMA) has presented two desktop computers in support of the Kumasi office of the Ghana News Agency (GNA).
Mr Samuel Sarpong, the Metropolitan Chief Executive, said it was their contribution towards improving the equipment of the national wire service to enhance performance.
He lauded GNA for maintaining high professional standards, saying, the accuracy, fairness and reliability of its news reports are never in doubt.
"This has made you to stand tall," he added.
Mr Sarpong encouraged the Agency to continue to work hard to build on the good image it has carved for itself on the media landscape.
He said he was confident that the computers would aid the Agency to provide adequate coverage to news making events in the Ashanti Region.
Mrs Elizabeth Kankam-Boadu, the Regional Manager, who received the items, said they were grateful for the gesture.
