With the London airport opening up after wide-spread flight disruptions caused by volcanic ash from Iceland, Air India and Jet Airways on Wednesday readied themselves to resume operation to the UK.
However, Kingfisher Airlines is yet to take a decision.
Officials of Air India and Jet Airways said the airlines were prepared to begin operations as per their schedules.
They, however, said that their decision to resume operations could be reviewed in case of fresh influx of volcanic ash. The Indian carriers had stopped flights to Europeans destinations last Thursday.
A British Airways spokesperson said Heathrow Airport in London opened for operations at 2 am IST Wednesday and all long-haul flight of the airline out of London will be resumed.
Air France and Lufthansa had Tuesday operated flights from India to Paris and Munich after a six days of disruption but services to other European destinations had remained suspended. They were the first airlines to resume services to Europe from India after the gap.
