Air bases in the country have to be modernised with state-of-the-art equipment to meet any contingency, Indian Air Chief Marshal P V Naik said on Wednesday.
Naik also said that commanders should keep strict vigil and maintain operational preparedness of the highest order at all times.
He was speaking at the end of two-day annual Southern Air Command commanders Conference, which deliberated on issues such as security threats, defence preparedness and coastline security.
