The National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) on Wednesday congratulated President John Attah Mills and the government on its decision to upgrade the Tamale Hospital to the status of a Teaching Hospital.
The move, according to NUGS, would help solve the perennial challenge that medical students of the University of Development Studies (UDS) encounter by travelling long distances for proacticals.
A statement signed by Mr. Wonder Madilo, President of NUGS, said government should complete projects such as the construction of the two new universities and the six unit classroom block on designated school campuses to help improve the standard of education in the country.
It urged government not to leave its achievement at the mercy of campaign promises but to rather collaborate with past governments to direct their energies at reducing the plight of the people.
The statement expressed gratitude to the President and pledged the commitment of students to the course of effective learning and the
acquisition of academic knowledge in the country.
