The Asante-Bekwai Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Noah Asante Manu, has promised equitable distribution of the assembly's resources to promote even development of the municipality.
He has therefore appealed for the support, cooperation and understanding of the people to achieve the goal of bringing progress to the
communities.
Mr Manu was speaking at the annual Easter fund-raising durbar organized by the chiefs and people of Asante-Bekwai in aid of the area's
development.
He gave the assurance that the assembly would support the community to complete the rehabilitation of the Gyamfi Sports Complex.
The project is now about 90 per cent complete.
Nana Kaakari Appau II, Omanhene of Bekwai, called for unity among the people and said they should also show interest in the progress of the
area.
He said the Traditional Council would continue to work in partnership with the Bekwaiman Development Committee to give Bekwai face-lift.
Mr Joe Osei-Owusu, Member of Parliament for the area, told the people that work would start the new Bekwai Municipal Hospital project in May.
Four individual citizens, Mr Kofi Mensah, Mrs Danso Dapaah, Mr Francis Aidoo and Mr Yaw Sarkodie and the Amansie West Rural Bank were
honoured by the chiefs and people for their outstanding contribution to the development of the area.
