Mr Joseph Amenowode, the Volta Regional Minister, on Wednesday inspected drains following the flooding of some major roads in town after a rainstorm on Sunday night.
The storm had blocked some roads making them impassable.
The drain between the YMCA and the offices of the Ghana Trades Union was clogged by debris causing flood waters to overflow the adjoining bridge making the road impassable.
Mr Oliver Biga, the Regional Urban Roads Director, attributed the flooding to the designing of the bridge and its alignment and said they needed to be
re-constructed to avoid flooding in future.
Mr Amenowode said he was displeased at the failure of officials from the Ho Municipal Assembly especially the Municipal Engineer to be part of the
inspection.
Mr Henry Ametepe, Regional Coordinator for the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), said measures would be put in place to minimize disasters during the rainy season.
