Dr Godfred Osei Bonsu-Twum, Akwapim South Municipal Chief Executive(MCE), has assured pupils at Aburi and Nsawam that government would soon supply them with free school uniforms.
Dr Bonsu -Twum said 600 exercise books were supplied to pupils in the area during their first day at school.
He said some of the schools included Osei Djan Primary school, Sakyi Agyakwah Primary School, Aburi Amanfro Presbyterian Primary in Nsawam and Aburi Girls Kindergarten and Aburi Methodist Primary in Aburi.
Dr Osei Bonsu -Twum announced this at the annual Akwasidae festival at Aburi.
He said the assembly was renovating Aburi Girls Senior High School and the Aburi Presbyterian School.
Dr Bonsu -Twum used the platform to introduce newly elected executive members of the National Democratic Congress, for Aburi- Nsawam Constituency, chaired by Mr. Seth Engman to Otoo Bour Nana Djan- Kwesi II, Chief of Aburi Anafoo and the Aburiman Traditional Council.
OtooBour Nana Djan Kwesi called on the newly elected executives to continue with the good work done by their predecessors and stay united so as
to mobilise the people of Aburi-Nsawam to promote development in the area.
OtooBour appealed to the MCE to put measures in place to rehabilitate the Aburi Botanical Gardens, which he said served as a tourist attraction and a source of foreign exchange for the country.
He also urged the MCE to also help with the completion of the Aburi Carvers Village to promote development in the community.
