Deputy Commissioner of Police Stephen Andoh-Kwofie, the Eastern Regional Commander, on Friday urged personnel of the service to be professional in their dealings with the public.
That, he said, would build public confidence in the police and strengthen their collaboration with the public in their operations.
Mr Andoh-Kwofie said since the police act on tip-off and information from the public, it was imperative to exhibit professionalism to win their
confidence.
He said this when he reviewed the Regional Commander's periodic parade at the regional command in Koforidua.
He commended personnel in the region for their performance that helped in combating crime to its barest minimum during the period.
Mr Andoh-Kwofie also commended them on their hard work which had resulted in reduction of road accidents in the area and urged them to continue to improve upon their performances.
He reiterated that the police service would not shield any officer who failed to exhibit professionalism and good conduct in the performance of his or her duties.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Gyamera Yeboah, the Deputy Regional Commander, said the image of the service was very important in building the necessary confidence for their work.
He therefore advised the personnel to live above reproach and exhibit high sense of professionalism in the performance of their duties.
