South African President Jacob Zuma'a son Duduzane Zuma Sunday met Uttarakhand state Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhariyal Nishank and congratulated him for successful conduct of the Mahakumbh mela, one of the world's largest religious congregations.
Zuma, who is the Director of Sahara Computers Private Limited in South Africa, praised India's northern state CM Nishank for his good management of Mahakumbh mela, being held on the banks of river Ganga at Haridwar and Rishikesh, said an official release.
During the meeting, Nishank described Uttarakhand as the capital of spiritualism and said the hill state is moving on the path of progress by striking a balance between development and environment.
He also apprised Zuma of the "Ganga Sparsh" programme aimed at cleansing the river and said people from all walks of life including sadhus, seers, students, women and voluntary organisations are making a collective effort to make it pollution-free.
