The final funeral rites for Mr. Ben Entwi, who died on 18th February, 2010 comes of on Saturday, 24 April, 2010 after burial service at the Bethel Methodist Church Community 8 Tema.
This will be followed by thanksgiving service at the same Church on Sunday 25th April 2010.
Mr Entwi 75, was a former Sub-Editor of the Ghana News Agency (GNA) and an External Examiner in Public Relations and Advertising for the Ghana
Institute of Journalism (GIJ) from 1989 to 2000.
He was a part-time lecturer in Public Relations and Advertising at the School of Journalism and Communication for 11 years.
Mr Entwi landed a job at the Ghana News Agency in 1966 after obtaining a Diploma in Journalism and Television from the School of Journalism and
Television, Berks in England and rose through the ranks to become Chief Sub-Editor of GNA.
Uncle Ben, as he was popularly known, secured a new job with the Ghana Highway Authority as Director of Public Affairs in 1972 and retired in 1999.
Mr. Entwi had a Diploma in Journalism from the International Centre for the Training of Journalists, Budapest, Hungary, a Post-Graduate Degree in Communication, from the University of Ghana, and MA Degree in Administration from the University of New Jersey, USA.
The late Mr Entwi was honoured by the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) on 25th October, 2008 during the Association's 13th Media Awards Night
for his immense contribution towards the development Journalism in Ghana.
Mr. Entwi was a devout Christian and a very active member of the Bethel Methodist Church, Tema North Circuit.
He left behind five children: Mrs Mercy Nkansa Agyarko, Mr Emmanuel Noel Entwi, Mr Ben Entwi Junior., Mrs Mabel Gossevi and Mrs Majourie Obeng.
