Six armed men have attacked a group of Ivorian traders, who were entering the country through unapproved route at Enchi, Mr Victor Agbetornyo, Western Regional Crime Officer, said on Wednesday.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Sekondi, he said, the incident occurred at about 1330 hours on March 30, this year and the robbers took away unspecified amount of Ghanaian and Ivorian currencies from the traders.
Mr Agbetornyo said the robbers took over the KIA truck that the traders were travelling with to escape but the truck broke down on the way.
He said the robbers abandoned the truck and boarded their own taxi cab with registration number AS 2671 T.
Mr Agbetornyo said people in communities heard of the incident and chased the robbers but the taxi cap somersaulted leading to the arrest of two of the robbers, Andrews Bombarden, 32, and Alhassan Fuseini, 22.
The two are currently in Police custody at Enchi but the rest managed to escape.
