From playing a street urchin in 'Slumdog Millionaire' to impersonating the 'The King' for a
high-end fashion shoot, Dev Patel has surely come a long way.
After proving his acting chops with the Oscar winning film, the Indian-origin actor proved he can cut it on the dance floor too, as he did an Elvis jig in the streets of London for a photo-shoot.
Passers-by joked that the 19-year-old had turned into 'Patelvis' as they admired his impromptu impression of the rock and roll legend, reported Daily Mail online.
Looking every inch the movie star in a sharp gun-metal grey designer suit, Patel broke into the swivel-hipped dance routine in the middle of the usually more gentrified Savile Row.
He laughed as he pulled off the energetic moves to tunes from a stereo in the street.
The shoot was believed to have been for a British designer and Patel changed three times into a selection of slick tailored suits, including this combination with a grey and blue checked shirt and striped blue tie.
During breaks from the camera, the actor smiled and chatted to fans, continuing to fool around by climbing on a postbox and even swinging round a nearby lamp-post.
He was in high spirits despite the fact that his
beautiful 25-year-old girlfriend Freida Pinto was nowhere to be seen.
The pair, who have been dating for a year, met when they starred together in 'Slumdog Millionaire'.
Director Danny Boyle's film, set in the streets of Mumbai, swept the board at last year's Oscars with eight awards, including best picture and best director.
Patel is next due to appear on the big screen later this year in 'The Last Airbender', by M. Night Shyamalan, the director of Oscar-nominated 'The Sixth Sense'.
