The Magistrate's Court at Assin Fosu, on Thursday, sentenced Isaac Ofori, a driver, to a fine of GH¢120.00 for failing to stop for the Police to carry out its routine checks on his vehicle.
He also did not carry a spare tyre and fire extinguisher.
The convict who pleaded guilty to the charges, would go to jail for three months if he fails to pay the fine.
Prosecuting, ASP Kwarteng Addae, told the Court, presided by Mr Joseph Blay, that on December 14, last year, the Police on their normal road checks
on the Assin Adubiase Road, signalled the driver who was driving a Taxi cab, to stop but he sped off.
Prosecution said on December 21, the convict was again stopped and when his vehicle was checked the Police detected that he had no spare tire and fire extinguisher.
