Peru is expecting 120,000 visitors a year flying with Spanish carriers Iberia and Air Europe, Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister Martin Perez said Monday.
Air Europe, which is about to begin operations in Lima, has planned to start flying three times per week on Feb.
22, which would bring a total of 900 passengers per week and 3,600 per month to Peru.
Furthermore, Iberia's four new weekly flights on the Madrid-Lima route will bring 7,000 passengers from Spain and other European countries.
The minister said both airlines would attract a total of 120,000 passengers per year.
He also said Lan Airlines will likely launch flights between Lima and San Francisco and his ministry is also evaluating the possibility of a route between Lima and Pascua Island.
