The Chairman of the Ashiedu Keteke Sub- Metropolitan District Council, has called for collaborative efforts to facilitate the transformation of Accra into a Millennium City, in line with the "New Accra for Better Ghana," agenda.
Mr Adjaibu Lamptey who spoke to the Ghana News Agency in an interview in Accra on Wednesday said it was the duty of the Sub- Metropolitan Council to ensure sound environmental sanitation, in the Central Business District to make Accra a modern city.
Mr. Lamptey said the council would liaise with waste management contractors in the city centre and make sure that people assigned with the cleaning and desilting of drains lived up to the task.
He expressed his determination to revive and complete all suspended projects in the area, including the renovation of the Salaga Market and the fencing of the Ayalolo Cluster of schools.
Mr. Lamptey said the council would rehabilitate and refurbish the old City Engineers premises near the Lighthouse to accommodate some decentralised departments and agencies.
