An auto-mechanic who chew off his friends lower lips during a fight over GH¢ 1.00 worth of akpeteshie (local gin), has been sentenced to four years in prison in hard labour by an Aflao Circuit Court.
Prosper Agbetsiafa, 37, pleaded not guilty to causing harm.
Mr Michael Akemo, a Detective Police Sergeant at Aflao told the court presided over by Mr Owuahene Acheampong that the convict and the victim, Doe Wofa, 32, a farmer, lived at Tublukope near Denu and were bosom friends.
He said in the morning of September 6, 2012, Agbetsiafa visited an alcohol vending spot in the community and met Mr Wofa.
Mr Akemo said when the convict saw his friend, he angrily queried him for sneaking into the spot without his knowledge and demanded that he should refund to him GH¢1.00, he used in the purchase of Akpeteshi a week ago.
Mr Akemo said a brother of the owner of the bar offered to pay the money but Agbetsiafa insisted that Mr Wofa should pay him back, resulting in a fight.
He said in the process Agbetsiafa bit and severed Mr Wofa's lower lip and also bit him his left arm.
