Mr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, outgoing Minister of Local Government and Rural Development on Thursday handed over five biofil toilets estimated at GH¢15,000 to two institutions within Tema Metropolis.
The beneficiary institutions are the Baatsona TMA Primary School and Bethel Prayer Centre at Lashibi.
Two of the facilities went to the school and three for the Prayer Centre in fulfilment of the Minister's promise he made during his electioneering for the 2012 General Election
Mr Ofosu-Ampofo used the occasion to appeal to Ghanaians to have attitudinal change in order to ensure clean environment.
Mrs Theresa Tetteh, Headmistress of the School and Elder Joseph Biney, Leader of the Prayer Centre received the facilities on behalf of their institutions and thanked Mr Ofosu-Ampofo for honouring his promise to them.
Mr Denis Buabeng, Project Engineer of Biological Filters and Compositers Limited based at Dzowulu in Accra, contractors, urged the beneficiaries to take good care of the facilities in order to prolong their lifespan.
