The bond between Ghana’s two music heavyweights, Sarkodie and Shatta Wale, is once again on display, as Sarkodie has revealed that Dancehall King, Shatta Wale, has voluntarily reached out to support this year’s Rapperholic concert, putting to rest rumours of tension between the two.
This year’s Rapperholic concert which has always had a home in the nation’s capital Accra, will for the first time take place in the Ashanti Region.
Speaking on Lawson TV, the multiple award-winning rapper admitted that while he has always struggled to ask fellow artistes for help, he was pleasantly surprised when Shatta Wale contacted him on his own.
“I often find it difficult asking my colleagues in the industry for help. Normally, I expect some of them to reach out and ask how they can contribute to the concert, which I put together annually for my fans. Shatta Wale reached out willingly and offered his support,” Sarkodie revealed.
According to him, Shatta Wale will not only mount the stage at the maiden Rapperholic Ashanti Edition but will also make his ride-hailing service, Shaxi, available to transport both fans and musicians on the night.
“Wale told me he wanted to be part of this and even promised to make Shaxi available. That kind of support means a lot to me,” Sarkodie stressed.
Touching on their often-publicised online feud, the Country Side hitmaker described it as “nothing serious,” insisting that what fans perceive as ‘beef’ is sometimes necessary to spice up the entertainment industry.
“These so-called beefs are necessary to energise the music space, but Wale has always been my brother. On the night of Rapperholic, when we come together, expect nothing short of fireworks,” he assured.
