Three years strong and counting, Black Sherif’s annual Zaama Disco Concert has become an unmissable highlight on Ghana’s entertainment calendar.
Last Saturday at the Untamed Empire, the 'Kwaku the Traveller' hitmaker delivered his most electrifying performance yet, cementing his status as one of Ghana’s greatest musical exports.
Midway through his set, Black Sherif paused and declared, “Clap for me, I don try,” a humble yet bold statement that perfectly encapsulated the night.
The audience did just that, showering him with thunderous applause for an unforgettable evening.
The evening kicked off with an exclusive sit-down interview with Codemicky, setting the tone for the magic that was about to unfold.
Black Sherif’s entrance was nothing short of divine. Against a visually captivating backdrop of guards symbolising his rise as the "supreme overlord," he took the stage with commanding presence.
Newbies in the industry had already warmed up the audience, but it was clear from the roaring crowd that Blacko was the main attraction.
Black Sherif treated fans to a masterclass in live performance. From his chart-topping singles to unreleased tracks from his highly anticipated Iron Boy album.
Backed by a dynamic live band and complemented by the sounds of trumpets, the experience was nothing short of mind-blowing.
And, as always, his stage presence was enhanced by his impeccable fashion sense.
Opening the show in a sharp two-piece jacket and trousers, he seamlessly transitioned into his signature flared trousers, crop top and bold boots, embodying his eccentric yet relatable persona.
Twas a star-studded affair
The night wasn’t just about Black Sherif. He shared the stage with some of Ghana’s finest, including Adina, KiDi, S?fa and Asomacy, all of whom brought their A-game.
Each performance added a unique flavor to the concert, keeping the energy alive and the audience engaged.
The DJs also ensured there was no dull moment, spinning both Ghanaian and international hits that had patrons on their feet all night long.
One of the most commendable aspects of the event was its impeccable organisation. Unlike many concerts where fans are left waiting for hours, Black Sherif hit the stage just before 10 p.m., ensuring the energy remained high throughout the night.
The Untamed Empire was packed to capacity, yet the flow of the event was seamless, with almost zero hitches in production.
Security was top-notch, with no reported incidents, allowing fans to focus solely on the music and the experience.
Patrons who spoke to Graphic Showbiz couldn’t contain their excitement. Many praised Black Sherif for his consistent ability to deliver world-class performances.
“He always gives his all, and this year was no different. From the music to the visuals, everything was perfect,” one fan shared.
Another added, “He’s truly a global star, and we’re lucky to have him representing Ghana on such a big stage.”
