Actor and leadership coach Majid Michel has hinted at a possible future in politics.
In an interview on Joy Prime on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, Michel shared that his decision to pursue the presidency would be motivated by frustration with the worsening issues facing society. He emphasized that his potential candidacy would stem from a deep sense of anger over the country's current challenges.
"The truth is because I am not angry yet. Whatever you are angry about is your duty to fix. So, you come out of your house, and you see the choked gutters and pure water sachets around, and you are angry about it, then it is your duty to fix it," he said.
"I am not yet angry because things are not going too badly, but when they start going very bad and you get very angry, then you realise the responsibility is yours"
He also shared his thoughts on how to foster growth in Ghana’s movie industry, stressing the importance of unity and collaboration with Nigeria.
He recalled an experimental film, Divine Love, which featured both Ghanaian and Nigerian actors, and highlighted its success in strengthening the industry. "We did an experimental movie called Divine Love that featured both Ghanaians and Nigerians, and it worked really well. We became stronger," he said. Michel noted that in the past, it was Ghana that supported Nigeria’s movie industry, but over time, Nigeria has developed its industry to a level where it no longer relies on Ghana. "Initially, it was Nigerians who needed our help with movies. After they received it, they built their industry far better than us, and now they don’t need our help anymore. It’s often about ego. Put ego aside and maintain friendship," he stressed.
"How God created the world is interdependent. You are not an island, and you need help... So, regardless of how powerful you think you are, you can never work unless in a team," he added.
