British singing star Adele has always waxed lyrical about how much she admires the talent of fellow balladeer Céline Dion.
She was overcome with emotion when she spotted the Canadian star in the audience at her concert in Las Vegas Saturday evening.
Adele interrupted her performance to share a hug with Dion, who is making a comeback after several years away from the stage, receiving treatment for Stiff Person Syndrome.
Adele’s residency is based in the Colosseum Theater at Caesar’s Palace, a venue originally built for Dion’s record-breaking residency in the city.
Dion wowed her fans with a spectacular surprise performance at the Opening Ceremony of the Paris Olympics in the summer. In her recent documentary I Am: Céline Dion, she charted the last few years, in which she realised she was not performing at her best and struggled through concerts, until she was eventually diagnosed with the rare neurological condition.
