Gospel singer Derrick Kyb has unveiled his latest single, "Love Hugs," a timely release aimed at promoting unity and love amidst Ghana's upcoming December 7 elections.
Kyb, who debuted with "Overtaking," explained that his new song encourages Christians to engage with national issues, rather than shying away.
"As Christians, we suffer the most during chaotic times, yet we often hesitate to speak out. Christians need to preach love in good and bad moments therefore this song is creating awareness for Christians to look out for the good of others.
“In fact, love is for everyone, even the Bible says that love your neighbour as yourself so if we love God and hate your neighbor, you are liar,” he said.
"Love Hugs" teaches the importance of love and acceptance, regardless of differences. He drew inspiration from 1 Corinthians 13, highlighting love's attributes.
"The Bible teaches us to love our neighbors as ourselves," Kyb noted. "This song creates awareness among Christians to preach love in both good and bad times."
The music video for "Love Hugs" is now available, with subtitles clarifying the song's message.
Derrick’s vision is for "Love Hugs" to inspire Ghanaians to prioritize love and unity, especially during the election period.
"Love is for everyone," he added.
