Gospel artiste Piesie Esther, has stated that she has no rivalry with any gospel artiste up for the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards’ (VGMA) Best Gospel Artiste Category.
Piesie Esther, who is competing against Joe Mettle, Perez Muzik, Diana Hamilton, Celestine Donkor, and MOG Music for the "Best Gospel Artiste," says she does not view the award as a chance to rub shoulders with anyone in particular but rather as a chance for all of her competitors in that category to be recognised for their work.
She remarked on GTV's Breakfast Show when asked how she felt about being nominated with her colleague gospel artistes in the same category.
The W’aye Me Yie singer said: "l am not terrified seeing them nominated for the same category as me because we are brothers and sisters doing the work of God."
Piesie Esther, who has received seven nominations for this year's VGMA, is confident that she will succeed and believes her nominations are God's will.
She believes that even if she doesn't win in every category for which she has been nominated, she is still a winner since the nomination itself proves that the twenty years of work she has put in were worth the shot.
